Kari’s Elevated Goddess View Of Conversations with Goddess M.
“I Choose To Soar” 8/21/2016
When birds prepare to leave the nest and fly for the first time, they do so instinctively. They live in the present moment, and they’re not distracted by thoughts of the past or future, so when they receive the prompt to fly, they notice it and prepare themselves. These birds have never flown before and never even practiced. How do they know they’re ready? They instinctively feel it. When birds leave the nest and take flight, they don’t know if their flight will be smooth or difficult. They don’t know if, just below them, a predator is waiting for them to make a mistake and fall. Birds simply do what they know to do in the moment and trust that the rest will come along the way.
Soaring requires that we be fully present. We cannot be numb to our feelings; our feelings are the main indicator of what’s going on with us. When we’re in tune with our feelings, and honest with ourselves about what they are, we will know exactly what to do next. Because humans are not like birds—we have years of painful conditioning built up—we must make sure we’re listening to our spirit, and not making decisions from our mind. Our mind is where the crud of conditioning is built up. Every decision we make with our minds is filtered through the crud and ends up being a decision based more on our pain than on our authenticity.
Soaring also requires that we trust ourselves, life, others, and our own personal God. Iyanla Vanzant referred to these as the four essential trusts. Without trust, the decision of taking flight into the great unknown seems illogical and dangerous. We want all the answers before we take flight, so we can be certain we’ll make it through and have all the riches we dream of. Somewhere in our lives, we learned that the world around us is untrustworthy—and although there are situations in which trust must be earned—not trusting the world only holds us back. We can blame the world for being untrustworthy as much as we want to, but in the end, we are the ones who have chosen not to move, not to take flight. S.S.Soar: somehow, in some way, with some effort, I will overcome all rifts. Trust that when you decide you are going to grow, move forward, and take flight, the world will support you in doing so.
